Introduction to Horses
Calweton Veterinary group welcomes all horse lovers and strives to offer a comprehensive service for our equine friends, large and small, young and old. We will visit horses at their stable or you may choose to ride in or box in for an appointment.
Dentistry
We offer a very popular dental service. Dentistry in horses was overlooked for many years, but has now come to be recognised as very important for your horses comfort and performance when ridden, their ability to properly digest food and regular dental checks prevent the mouth from becoming so unbalanced that it reduces the life expectancy of the horse. Vaccinations
More vaccinations are becoming available for the prevention of disease. Not all horses need all vaccinations by any means, and you should consider what you do and where you go with your own horse. Please refer to our advice sheet or discuss it with one of our Vets.
Worms
Correct use of worm control products is important and will be a subject that will take on a very high profile in the coming years. Sadly improper use of wormers is leading to increasing resistance in worm populations, which if left unchecked will be disastrous. To this effect we provide wormers at a very competitive price so that we can try and give correct advise to owners. Please refer to our advice sheet on this topic
House Visits
